EchoSim ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using EchoSim, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated by your use of the app:

Account information — name, age, gender, email address, and photos you upload.
Personality profile — MBTI type, attachment style, relationship intent, and answers to onboarding questions used to build your Echo.
Location — approximate location (city level) if you grant permission, used for match discovery.
Simulation data — conversations generated during AI vs AI and Human vs AI dates, affection scores, and chemistry reports.
Identity verification — liveness detection images used to verify you are a real person. These are processed and not stored beyond verification.
Payment information — transaction records for in-app coin purchases. We do not store raw card details; payments are processed by third-party providers.
Usage data — device type, app version, session duration, and feature interactions, used to improve the product.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and operate your Echo AI agent.
To match you with other users and run date simulations.
To generate chemistry reports and compatibility insights.
To process in-app coin purchases and maintain your wallet balance.
To improve our AI models, matching algorithms, and product experience.
To send you important service notifications (no marketing without consent).
To detect fraud, abuse, and fake profiles.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

With other users — your public profile (name, age, photos, personality tags) is visible to potential matches. Simulation transcripts are shared between matched users only.
Service providers — we use third-party services for cloud hosting, payment processing, and analytics. These providers process data only on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements.
Legal obligations — we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
Business transfers — in the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified in advance.

4. AI-Generated Conversations

Conversations produced during simulated dates are generated by large language models using your Echo's personality profile as input. These conversations do not represent your real words or opinions. Simulation transcripts are stored securely and visible only to the two matched users involved.

We may use anonymised, aggregated simulation data to improve our AI models. We will never use identifiable conversation content for model training without your explicit consent.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for fraud prevention purposes.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction — request that we correct inaccurate data.
Deletion — request that we delete your account and personal data.
Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
Objection — object to certain processing activities, including use of your data for AI model improvement.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest) and access controls to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

8. Children's Privacy

EchoSim is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of EchoSim after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
